Blog

My name is Liza Naylor and I am a personal chef in York, Pennsylvania. My husband and I raised 4 beautiful children in this bucolic countryside, two are mine and two are his and we raised all four. And it was a messy cantankerous time in our lives blending so many different worlds into one. I don’t know how we made it. They’re all grown now… beautiful young humans figuring it out as they go. And here we are...It’s time…My time to go back to where it all started…more than 40 years ago in a many-roomed bungalow in Catonsville, Maryland. My parents decided that we would live communally with purpose and we lived with anyone with a rare illness or refugee status.

I grew up in an international home, we didn’t always speak the same language, but we did speak food. And we spoke the language of food a lot. And from a young age, I learned about foraging, cooking and the connection between our food and our health. I want to share with you the depth and intensity of the culture of food and community that was instilled in me so many years ago. I want to share with you the flavors and textures that define our human experience. It’s time to dust off the stories and flavors from my childhood…shine them up and display them proudly. This is my food story…This is my food blog.
